If like me you love the taste of Yoghurt, then why not make it at home. I have listed below the Top 5 List of Yoghurt Makers that are currently available on the market place. I hope that you find that useful and stops you having to do a lot of searching.

Price of Yoghurt Makers

To buy one for your own home you should expect to pay between £15-25 depending on which brand that you decide to go for. The good news is that these are affordable for most people and I think it is a great method to use for making yoghurt in your home.

They will certainly save you a lot of money as you can make your own rather than buy the expensive produces found in many stores and supermarkets.

The most popular brands who make these are:

  • Lakeland
  • VonShef
  • Andrew James
  • EasiYo
  • Severin
  • My.Yo

Now of course you can make yoghurt at home without a maker. I just find that having one of these makes your life a great deal easier. You can still enjoy the benefits of healthy yoghurt without any additives but can also make it quickly and in batches.

No 1 Choice – Lakeland My Kitchen Electric Yoghurt Maker

Lakeland My Kitchen Electric Yoghurt MakerThis yoghurt maker from the brand Lakeland is one of the best selling products over at Amazon UK.

This one can make up to 1 litre of home made yoghurt, a product that is made with no additives and with no preservatives.

Now you can use semi-skilled milk with this model, but for the best yoghurt we would recommend the use of whole milk.

This one costs just a tad under £20 and gets really good ratings from buyers over at Amazon. It has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars which is a consistently high rating. This one is electrically operated and super simple to use.

The people who would buy this, apart from yoghurt lovers, would be those who are slimming or prefer healthy foods without additives.

No 2 Choice – Andrew James Large Red Coloured Digital Yoghurt Maker

Andrew James Large Stainless Steel Coloured Digital Yoghurt MakerThis yoghurt maker from the popular brand Andrew James gets a slightly higher rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

As you can see from the image to the left this is a nice looking maker and it comes with 12 useful jars for holding the finished product.

You make your yoghurt by putting the ingredients into the jars, place those inside the machine and simply switch it on. The machine then mixes and heats the ingredients, and when finished you put them into the fridge until they have set.

No 3 Choice – Severin Yoghurt Maker with 14 Glasses

Severin Yoghurt Maker with 14 Glass JarsThis is pretty much like the one above with the main difference being that this one has 14 jars. This one costs around £23-25 and buyers rate this one at an average of 4.4 out of 5 stars.

Like most yoghurt makers you use a basic yoghurt starter culture and add milk to that to create great tasting yoghurt.

It takes around 8 hours for these yoghurts to set in the fridge and then they are good to eat. The handy thing about this model is that it can make 7 jars, and then you get another 7 jars which you can have ready to go.

Like the others above, you can check the reviews out at Amazon by clicking here.

No 4 Choice – VonShef Digital Yoghurt Maker

VonShef Automatic Digital Yoghurt MakerThis model from VonShef is one of the cheapest options available in the UK market and costs around £12.

This one comes with 7 glasses with lids and can make up to 1.5 litres of yoghurt. It also comes with a 2 year warranty and has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars.

I think this one looks particularly stylish and in the natural white colour will suit most kitchens.

When prepared in this maker, they then take about 8-12 hours of cooling in the fridge for the yoghurt to be ready.

No 5 Choice – EasiYo Manual Yoghurt Maker

EasiYo Manual Yoghurt MakerLast but not least on my list is the one that I own myself. In the UK it is really difficult to find banana yoghurt and believe me I have tried. I found this yoghurt when I was in Italy at breakfast time in a hotel.

I loved the taste that and wanted to buy it when I got home. Alas I found it very difficult to buy. That is why I bought this machine.

It is very affordable at under £10 and has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. This one is not electrical so you don’t need a power supply.

It takes about 8 hours to make yoghurt with this handy little maker. You can buy sachets that have different flavours and then make those in the machine.
