Ice cube makers are handy if you like to have BBQs, parties or like to have plenty of ice available for cold drinks. Most fridges/freezers come with small ice cube trays and you can of course make ice in these. It is however a slow process and the quantity of ice cubes is very small.
These may be OK for a few drinks but will never be enough for a party or if you are entertaining a few people. That is where an ice cube maker can solve that problem.
Ice making machines are very good at making ice. They can make different sizes of ice cubes. The time taken to make them is around 10 minutes and ice cube makers can also make larger batches of ice cubes over a longer period of time.

Ice Cube Maker Buying Guide
We always like to provide a user guide as we think it helps a lot especially if you have never bought an ice maker machine before. There are a few important things to fully understand before parting with your hard earned cash, as these are not a cheap purchase.
Is it worth it to get an ice maker?
Ice cube makers are not cheap and have an average cost of around £130. Unless you have a genuine requirement for lots of ice then it's probably not best to spend that amount of money. Having a plentiful supply of ice though is a good idea if you have regular parties, BBQs, or like to have a regular supply of ice on hand.
Does an ice maker keep ice frozen?
An ice maker does not keep ice frozen. They are not freezers. Now when they make the ice it is of course frozen. At this stage it is best to take it out and use what you need and then store the rest in freezer bags in the freezer.
If you leave the cubes in the maker they will eventually turn into cold water. You can of course then re-use that water. We would always recommend getting the cubes into the maker as soon as they are made.
What is the life expectancy of an ice maker?
The life expectancy of an ice maker is on average 5 years assuming regular use. However, the life expectancy will vary depending on how often the maker gets used. If for example is is used regularly over the summer months and not in the winter months, then you could easily get 8-10 years out of it.
