You can then freeze for these for later use. Then all that is required is to get these out of the freezer, ad within a few minutes, you have nourishing, cheap, and quick-to-fix delicious meals.
Easy Soup Recipes to Get You Started
Here are two such easy soup recipes to get you started. These recipes can be followed exactly as given, but they are also generic recipes. Substitutions give a similar texture and body, but with different flavors. Suggestion for alternate ingredients follows each of these easy soup recipes.
One uses a cream base while the other uses a broth. You’ll be surprised to find how a few minor adjustments to each recipe can provide many distinctly different easy soup recipes.
CARROT & CORIANDER SOUP
This is a very popular soup and a great one to make in the Autumn and Winter months. It helps warm you up on a cold winter’s day.
- 25 grams of butter
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped Garlic clove
- 400 grams of sliced or chopped carrots
- 1.5 teaspoons of ground coriander
- 700 ml of chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon of Tomato Puree
- Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
Put the butter, onion and garlic into your Soup Maker, If you have a saute type soup maker then you can make use of that. If not, then saute in a pan first and then add to the soup maker or blender. Then add the carrots, coriander, stock and a good pinch of cracked black pepper. You can also add the salt and pepper at the end if you prefer.
Select your preferred soup program, chunky, blended or smooth.
When finished cooking you can then taste and season as needed. You can add yogurt and freshly chopped coriander to taste and garnish if you wish.
POTATO & LEEK SOUP
This is another hugely popular soup and another great one to make in the Autumn and Winter months. It helps warm you up on a cold winter’s day.
- 150 grams of leeks
- 150 grams of potatoes
- 2 stock cubes
- 800 ml water
- Salt & pepper
Chop up the leeks and potatoes and then add the water and stock cubes. Place all in the soup maker. You can add salt and black pepper at this stage. Normally it takes about 15 minutes for the soup to be ready. You can then pick your preferred setting.
